Daum France Signed Crystal Cubist Object

$450

The House of Daum was founded in France in 1878 and is known for being the only luxury crystal maker to use the difficult pate de verre technique. Over the years, Daum has worked with many artists including Salvador Dali and Philippe Starck. This absolutely gorgeous 1970s Daum era cubist 'objet' is made of clear and frosted crystal. Positioned one way, the cubist piece looks like three geometrically connected cubes, a striking decorative object. Flipped over, we find that the crystal cubes resemble an ashtray. One side rests on three points, which together elevate the object above the surface, making it appear as if it is floating. The underside is signed Daum in diamond point script.
